First runner, first winner for Intello!

The Haras du Quesnay-based first season sire Intello got off the mark when his two-year-old daughter Sonjeu, who was his first runner, broke her maiden first time out over 1 100m at Tarbes on Thursday, 25th May. Trained by Christophe Ferland, she registered an easy win by two and a half lenghts under the saddle of Julien Augé, having led all the way. Congratulations to all her winning connections.

Sonjeu runs in the color of the Intello's owners and breeders Wertheimer & Frère who bought her as a yearling at Arqana. She was consigned by Haras d'Ombreville. Bred by Sydney Vidal, she is out of the Gr.3-placed mare Wait And See (Montjeu) who is a sister to the Gr.3 Prix Allez France winner DAKSHA and a granddaughter of the Gr.1 Coronation Stakes winner GOLDEN OPINION. The further family also includes SAMITAR who won the Gr.1 Irish 1 000 Guineas.

The Gr.1 Prix du Jockey Club winner Intello was leading freshman sire at the European yearling sales in 2016 and his first yearlings made up to €360,000. In 2017, his first two-year-olds are in training with Michael Bell, Pia Brandt, Simone Brogi, Henry Candy, Tony Castanheira, Roger Charlton, Nicolas Clément, Robert Collet, Mikel Delzangles, Ed Dunlop, Yan Durepaire, André Fabre, Richard Fahey, Christophe Ferland, Francis-Henri Graffard, John Gosden, William Haggas, John Hammond, Richard Hannon, Freddy Head, Christiane Head-Maarek, Dean Ivory, Mark Johnston, Carlos Laffon-Parias, Christophe Lotoux, David Menuisier, Hughie Morrison, William Muir, Hugo Palmer, Sir Mark Prescott Bt, Jean-Claude Rouget, David Smaga, Sarah Steinberg, Sir Michael Stoute, Roger Varian, Chris Wall, Stéphane Wattel...
